De waarde van het maken van fouten in het AI-tijdperk
Artificial Intelligence is changing the way we learn, work, and solve problems. In plain words, AI can write a text, solve an exercise, or give us an answer. This can be very useful, but it also raises an interesting question: Are we still giving ourselves enough space to make mistakes?
Making mistakes is a normal and important part of learning. When we make a mistake, we can understand what went wrong, try again, and improve. Mistakes can also help us become more creative and independent. However, if we always ask AI to give us the correct answer, we may lose an important part of the learning process.
This is especially important in education. Students can use AI to understand a difficult subject, get ideas, or receive help with their work. However, there is a big difference between using AI as a learning tool and asking it to do everything for us. If AI always thinks, writes, and solves problems for us, we may become less confident in our own skills.
Digital responsibility is also about knowing when to use AI and when to think for ourselves. Sometimes, making a mistake or struggling with a difficult problem is exactly what helps us learn.
The Erasmus+ DIRECT project focuses on helping people develop responsible digital skills and use technology in a thoughtful way. AI should not take away our chance to learn from mistakes. Instead, it should help us become better learners and thinkers.
