Whether posting on social media, making an online purchase, or simply browsing the web, individuals continuously generate a <strong>digital footprint<\/strong> that can persist long after the original activity has ended. As personal data becomes increasingly valuable and widely shared, understanding the <strong>long-term implications<\/strong> of these <strong>digital traces<\/strong> is an essential aspect of <strong>Digitale Verantwortung<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Digital footprints<\/strong> can be either active or passive. <strong>Active footprints<\/strong> result from <strong>deliberate actions<\/strong>, such as sharing content, completing online profiles, or commenting on digital platforms. <strong>Passive footprints<\/strong> are created through <strong>data collected in the background<\/strong>, including browsing activity, location information, and behavioural data used by digital services. Recognising this distinction helps learners better understand how their personal information is generated, collected, and used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The European Union&#8217;s <strong>General Data Protection Regulation<\/strong> (GDPR) provides individuals with <strong>the right to request the deletion of personal data<\/strong> under specific circumstances, a provision commonly known as the <em>&#8220;right to be forgotten.&#8221;<\/em> Despite its importance, many people remain unaware of this right or uncertain about how to exercise it. This is particularly relevant for younger generations, who engage extensively with <strong>digitale Technologien<\/strong> while often underestimating the persistence of their online presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Digitale Verantwortung<\/strong> education can help bridge this gap by developing learners&#8217; awareness of both their digital footprint and their data rights. Within the <strong>DIRECT-Projekt<\/strong>, learners are encouraged to critically examine their online presence, reflect on the consequences of <strong>digital actions<\/strong>, and make informed decisions about sharing personal information. By fostering privacy awareness, critical thinking, and responsible decision-making, <strong>DIREKT<\/strong> supports learners in becoming more informed and empowered participants in digital society.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jede Online-Interaktion hinterl\u00e4sst Spuren.
